General

Q: Wheres Sprites Unlimited at?

A: Well Sprites Unlimited was origionally the main site and Dino Productions was kinda its own little section. Now the two have merged and Dino Productions' name got banner privilages. So we still do Sprites and I still host my own games, except now we do fangames too. Will it work out? Maybe...

Q: Thats my game/sprites/ect someone submitted!

A: If you can prove it, I'll happily either change the page to credit you or remove it. The offender will be under investigation. If I find him to be no more than a petty theif, he's banned from the forums and all his games/sprites removed.

Sprites

Q: How do I rip sprites?

A: Theres a few diffrent ways to do it, but they all involve ROMs. Unfortunatly ROMs are illegal and will never be provided by this site. So don't even bother asking. Anyways, you'll also need an Emulator. I recommend ZSNES and Visual Boy Advanced for SNES and Game Boy respectively. They're my personal favorites.

Q: How should I arrange a sheet?

A: Just remember these key points: Please don't send a bunch of small sheets. I'd rather get one big sheet than 24 little ones. A good example would be instead of giving all your Final Fantasy party member's diffrent sheets, just put them all on the same sheet. If I find the sheet to be too large, I can split it. No problem there. I'd rather split sheets than combine them. Also, make sure you group animations together in order. So if someone were to put your sprites in order in GIF Animator or something, it should animate properly like in the game.

Q: Can I rip 3D sprites?

A: No, you can't. There is no such thing as a 3D sprite, they are called models and they work diffrently from sprites. Sprites are 2D and though most 3D games have them, I recommend ripping strait from the ROM image with some kinda hacking tool.

Games/Fan games

Q: Why do your games get special tratment?

A: Its my site.

Q: Can we team up for a project?

A: I really prefer not to do this. We would have to be good friends for that to happen. Mostly because random people like to do a project with someone, have them do all the work, and claim it as an "equal effort". People have tried this on me before and I don't like it.

Q: Do the fan games have to be games about your characters?

A: Not at all. Your fan games can be about whatever you want it to be. I'll host anything as long as you put atleast some effort into it. And don't use the whole 'my first game' thing on me. I've seen some pretty awesome first games in my day, so I know its possible not to suck so bad your first time around.

Q: Can you help me with my game?

A: Please post in the forums if you need help in any aspect.

Q: What should I use to make my games?

A: Its all up to you. I prefer it run on Windows as I lack a Mac or a Linux computer to test it with.

Q: I hate your games! They don't deserve their own section!

A: What part of 'I pay for the site' do people not understand?

Q: Whats with the Rating system? You're not the ESRB.

A: I'd like to offer a wide veriaty of games on the site but I want people to know what they're downloading too. Ratings give people a little insight so they know what to expect.
